  1. @reptileman262 i did this, I think his mod looks better. I was in a hurry tho just drilled holes with no real pattern. If I had time I couldve made a nice pattern of holes.

  2. @kenzeus i have to say if the g60 is like the g51j the sound SUCKS…yeah I know its a laptop dont expect good sounding speakers but EXPECT sounding speakers…you cant hear it watching movies…stupid sticker on it bragging about sound quality. this is a big laptop if I am toting this weight around I hate to have carry speakers with it.

  3. Very interesting approach. My G50VT-X1 has the same cooling setup and I went about fixing the problem a bit differently. I simply removed the black plastic and drilled holes in the cover to allow for cooler air to enter. The temperatures used to get up to 103 degrees Celsius in games such as GTA4. After the mod, temperatures when the laptop was positioned on my lap did not change, yet, when the laptop was given enough clearance, dropped down to mid 85s.

  4. Instead of having to remove the fake vent in its entirety, why not just punch a punch of holes in the fake grate?

  5. I would like to make a big hole at the bottom of my acer aspire 8930G it’s overheating + I have a cooler LIAN LI

  6. very nice descriptions man!

  7. @Zenodilodon I went and bought Epoxy but didn’t end up using it. Instead of getting a new grill for it, I just drilled lots of small holes underneath it, may not look good but waiting for the results now. Play HoN :D

  8. @Zenodilodon I just went and bought Epoxy glue as the guy in store said it’s heat resistance. The hot glue from the glue gun will melts. Let’s hope it works, i’m going to try it now.

  9. @Zenodilodon so what glue did you use to glue on the mesh and the silver plastic ring?

  10. @MrJanl92 I try to use hot glue for parts that are cooler because it’s easy to undo I use various glues and I try to use epoxy as much as possible do to it’s heat resistance.

  11. I couldn’t understand what glue you used. Can you please post it here?

  12. I couldn’t understand what glue you used. Can you please post it here?
    Thanks!

  13. I’m sorry but it’s quite hard to understand fully what you said especially the tools that you used. Could you list it or maybe write a short instructions in the description? I really really want to do this mod but I need to gather the tools together. TYVM good sir!

  14. @tiagoblanquet can you link me to your video please I cannot find it in your uploads because my laptop was 105C average now its only 80C but I really want it down to 50C

  15. @Zenodilodon nice yea mines coming in tomorrow hopefully before work if not not much i can do about it :/

  16. @undeadguy2 I think im goign to turn the bottom of my laptops panel into a see through/lit plexiglass too :)

  19. @undeadguy2 lol, Alot of people have actually asked about this mod and about having it done, I thought about offering a uncover vent more service myself. I’d do it for the fun of it lol.

  20. hmm this is tempting to have you do when i get mine.

  21. @adambennett08330

I seriously need directions on how you did the 2nd part. I have this exact laptop. It’d be very helpful.

    Thanks.

  22. Did the same thing. It droped my temps from 92 to 75 but still very warm, so i decided to homemade watercooled it. Check my video

  23. @MrSimsfan2 once you take the black film plastic off then you use a sharp utensil to scrape off the melted blue/silver pegs that run from the silver ring to the inside of the laptop. then you can pull it off the bottom with a thin flat head screw driver, use a dremal or small tipped heated tool to cut from hole to hole and sand off the rough edges after you break the inner circle out.

  24. How did you get the metal blockage thing under the black sticker thing off?

  25. @fuse5150able NEW UPDATE: GPU temperature at IDLE has dropped down to 52 C. Apparently the fan only runs when the CORE temperatures are higher than 32C? So the mod does work if you get the fan to run. Other than that if you want the fan to run at full speed 100% all the time just cut the pwm wire (blue) and it will run fast and cool all the way.. The fan speed is based off the high temperatures.. Before it wouldnt run until my gpu hit 70+ and then knocked it down and stopped. But now its 52C :D
